A global company that began its life as a government body based in Melbourne 100 years ago, CSL wanted to celebrate its centenary by telling its remarkable story of innovation, evolution and pioneering medical discovery. The purpose of the book and the film was to connect staff from around the world with a shared, higher purpose.
Once the book was underway, CSL decided to throw a film into the mix. Since Hyphen already had a firm grasp of the story, and had interviewed more than forty people in the course of writing the history, who better than to produce the film? Cue a whirlwind round-the-world trip to interview many of those same people to camera, to produce a feature-length documentary that captures the sweeping history and the full impact of this incredible organisation.
Our centenary was an enormous opportunity to communicate our story and connect more closely with staff and stakeholders. But it was also a huge task to manage and we couldn’t have done it by ourselves. The team at Hyphen did an amazing job and helped us to maximise our centenary.
We created a high-end coffee table book showcasing the many amazing archival images collected over 100 years. Then we took our show on the road, travelling literally around the world to capture some of CSL’s amazing stories in a feature-length docco.
